Lee,

Thank you for your kind comment, and for actually writing your comment into the blog post. The Cold Spring dog park has most certainly made a difference; I doubt before Joey's accident if I ever would have brought him there... I just didn't understand how much he needed something like that. My husband and Joey have the most wonderful partnership running, and I got dependent on that. But Joey having an opportunity to run freely with other dogs, off lead, has made a tremendous difference. I could write so much more about this.

Dog Parks are a win-win situation for our whole community. Not only do dogs need a safe place to go, but having a dog park makes our streets safer for cars as well, as dogs (like Joey) are much less likely to run out into the street when they have an opportunity to run around in the park and shake off some of their energy that way, learn to play well with other dogs, and more.

Yours,

I just read the wonderful story about you and Joey <a href="http://www.wickedlocal.com/newton/news/x370512012/Newton-dog-blogs-diary-of-a-dog-who-was-hit-by-a-car">in the TAB</a>.

Please tell Joey that this one story probably did more good for the dog park than a whole year of city meetings. It's so nice to read positive things about dogs and dog owners for a change and what you've done is wonderful. And the central message about his injury is unmistakable; dogs need a safe place to go.

Thanks!
